NTMC 2007™

NTMC 2007 core components perform SCADA functions such as automatic RTU polling, operation of remote switches, timed switch management, etc. Additional components are available. The LMEX Load Management module provides a host of peak shaving, and load rotation algorithms, while the CCEX Capacitor Control component manages feeder VAr or power factor by connecting /disconnecting capacitor banks to / from the power grid. The MLEX Meter Reading module automates remote meter reading functions, as well as billing data preparation and forwarding to local billing departments. The NTMC Remote Client provides remote access to NTMC via LANs and telephone, while WebLink enables users to access NTMC via the internet, and enables NTMC to notify the users of important events via e-mail

SCADA

The NTMC 2007 Remote Unit Executive (RUEX) component is responsible for executing NTMC SCADA functions. These include remote unit database management, dispatching of control codes, polling of remote units, proper evaluation of incoming data, system status displays, etc. RUEX also serves as an operating system for higher level application modules, such as load management and capacitor control.

LOAD MANAGEMENT

The NTMC 2007 Load Management Executive (LMEX) component is responsible for executing NTMC load management functions. This means running one or more of the following algorithms: peak shaving, average demand extrapolation, load rotation, and load state reinserting. The module also does demand recording, and maintains load activity logs

CAPACITOR CONTROL

The NTMC 2007 Capacitor Control Executive (CCEX) component is responsible for executing NTMC capacitor control functions. This means running one or more of the following algorithms: VAr control, power factor control, current control, voltage control, temperature control, and time control. The module also does recording of demand, reactive power, power factor, and any other input parameter relevant to the algorithms being used, as well as capacitor bank activity logs.

AMR

The NTMC 2007 Meter Reading Executive (MREX)performs automated reading of customers’ electric meters.The program automates the entire process, from downloading meter data, to generating files which are used to generate customers billing statements.

REMOTE ACCESS

WebLink is the module which allows users to access NTMC via the internet. With WebLink operators can: Configure NTMC to expose the desired portions of its database to the internet, thus making them visible to the rest of the world via web browsers, Allow users to monitor, and issue commands to NTMC via web browsers, Configure WebLink so NTMC can send e-mail to users who are interested in special events monitored by the control system.
