NeXGen™ AMI - 2-Way Wireless Automated Metering Infrastructure

The Telescada NeXGenä AMI Wireless Automatic Meter Reading instrument is a powerful, flexible and economical solution for 2-Way wireless, automatic meter reading, status monitoring, alarming and control. Unlike many AMI instruments, the NeXGenä AMI can take outputs from pulse generating or serial protocol electric, gas and water meters allowing all residential meters to be read simultaneously with their data wirelessly transmitted by a single device.

The NeXGenä AMI provides users with a core of 4 independent digital status points usually configured as 2 sets of KYZ pulse accumulators. Additionally the NeXGenä  AMI can read, record and transmit data from an IED (intelligent electronic device), or smart meter via its RS-232/RS-485 serial communications link. The NeXGenä AMI’s optional line voltage measurement input provides single phase AC line voltage measurement accurate to +/- 1% at 117VAC. An optional integrated momentary “1 Form C (SPDT)” control relay rated for 30A at 250 VAC, 20A at 28 VDC provides control over heavy loads such as air conditioners industrial pumps or service disconnect.

An internal 2.4Ghz zigbee meshing spread spectrum radio allows the NeXGenä AMI’ to transmit meter data to a central data concentrator. An additional remote communication port allows for configurable remote data transmission via higher power radio, dial-up, cellular or other transceiver. A local maintenance port allows for direct interrogation and programming of the NeXGenä  AMI using the NeXGenä  NGC Maintenance Utility Software. DNP3.0 standard communications protocol allows the data concentrator for a group of NeXGenä  AMI units to communicate with any modern SCADA system. Standard DNP protocol and zigbee means that you will not be held captive to a proprietary protocol or communications method

The NeXGenä  AMI’s small NEMA 4 rated enclosure allows for quick installation on distribution panels, walls or meter boxes. A see through cover window shows a heartbeat LED that provides quick field confirmation of proper operating status. The NeXGenä  AMI’s internal isolation transformer can be configured to support multiple input voltages
